Stow-on-the-Wold, in the heart of the Cotswolds, has been a meeting place from Roman Times to the present day. The Town is situated on the Roman Fosse Way and is 790' above sea level. Stow boasts one of the finest Market Squares in the Country, complete with its Market Cross, where the final skirmishes of the Civil War took place in 1646.

Stow is regarded as a major centre for Antiques and Fine Art Galleries outside of London but also has a happy blend of Tearooms, Hotels, Pubs and Shops selling everything from daily provisions to gifts for special occasions, all set within its 17th C. and 18th C. buildings. The Cotswold architecture has been built in mellow honey coloured stone and the area is designated an 'Area of outstanding natural beauty'.

The Town will host a Farmers Market in the Square on the 2nd Thursday of each month, commencing October 2002.
